About the role We are currently recruiting for a Quality Assurance Technician on a permanent basis for our Ossett site in Wakefield, UK. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to gain or strengthen their skills within QA, with possibilities of obtaining further training and certification (Apprenticeship development into Compliance Auditor Role potentially available). This position is full time Monday to Friday with flexibility in start and finish times (we understand that not everybody can work the same hours, so we are happy to look at a shift pattern that would work around your lifestyle!)
Key responsibilities
Principle Role: Quality Control for incoming raw materials and finished goods with additional Quality administration requirements Environmental monitoring Maintenance of database for commercial samples and documentation and sending commercial samples when requested
Main responsibilities:
- Implementation of relevant QC testing as per the site testing schedule (pre-shipment samples, raw materials, finished product)
- To operate and maintain the positive release system for Ossett site production goods
- To operate and maintain the approval system for pre-shipment samples
- To operate and maintain the release system for Ossett site raw materials
- Environmental monitoring (swabbing, water and air sampling)
- Maintenance of commercial samples database and relevant documentation and sending commercial samples when requested
- To arrange analysis of samples with 3rd party laboratory on a daily basis
- Maintaining QC consumables
- Creating quality notifications
- Basic maintenance, validation and cleaning of laboratory equipment
- Ensure that relevant procedures and work instructions are followed
- To report any issues to the line manager and assist with the corrective actions as required
- Provide concise and accurate information to support any investigations
- Taking on some deputy roles for the Quality Supervisor and Quality Manager when required
Administrative:
- Filing and storage of retained samples as per the site procedures
- To input and maintain relevant batch process documentation to satisfy internal policy and external accreditation requirements
- Maintenance of records of certification of analysis for incoming raw materials and finished goods
Qualifications and skills

- Proficient in the use of MS Office tools

- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate - advantage but full training will be provided
