Hypo Hounds is an Assistance Dog Charity that trains Assistance dogs to transform the lives of Type 1 Diabetics. We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic trainer to join our expanding team in based in Maidstone, Kent.
What you will be doing
Working as an Assistance Dog Trainer you will be training our amazing Hypo Hounds and supporting them from puppyhood to the moment our dogs qualify as a Hypo Hound and beyond.
What we need
We are looking for a self-motivated positive individual with practical and theoretical experience in dog training and behaviour, with skills in communication, teaching, mentoring and coaching people desirable.
The ability to develop and train dogs using the assistance and skills of our volunteers is essential so we are looking for someone who finds value in working with people and dogs and is driven by the overall goal to help us produce well behaved and sociable dogs.
You will need to be resilient and work with a high degree of efficiency with attention to detail in report writing.
A member of the APDT/IMDT or other recognised dog training establishment is again desirable.
A full clean UK manual driving licence.
