What you'll be doing:
As a Lead Internal Quality Assurer, Quality of Education, you will assure a high standard of relevant assessment and teaching delivered by our teams for both apprenticeships and standalone awards. You will support your colleagues in the development and ongoing review of processes and standards to maintain Awarding Bodies approval, meet Ofsted guidelines and ESFA funding compliance.
Maintaining a caseload of internal verification you will also coordinate that of others, oversee sampling plans for internal and consultant staff while completing observations and quality checks of assessment and teaching taking place, along with file checks and oversight of other compliance and quality functions as required.
Responsibilities extend to:
- Provide qualitative, constructive feedback and suggested best practice following quality checks and observations to staff and their managers.
- Utilising themes and trends and completion of Training Needs Analysis to develop and deliver effective staff training development related to quality and compliance.
- Maintain training and quality improvement plans, implementing findings, monitoring long term suitability and adjusting for changes to regulatory or sector needs.
- Maintaining NHBC's accreditations, including ESFA, OFSTED, CITB, NVQ Awarding Organisations, and other bodies as appropriate.
- Act as mentor lead for new assessors completing induction programmes and assessor/internal verifier awards.
- Supporting the management, monitoring and fair distribution of work amongst internal verifiers both on the compliance and quality team and peer to peer verification taking place throughout the department.
- Ensuring that NHBC's qualifications centre manuals and other relevant policies remain current, incorporating changes to policy or rules amendments as required.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience conducting internal verification of qualifications assessment or quality of education delivery including investigation, analysis and providing feedback.
- Extensive experience in assessment delivery and/or training delivery within construction.
- Experience with Learning Assistant ePortfolio system.
- Thorough problem solving ability and investigative approach.
- Detailed knowledge of Apprenticeship Standards including End Point Assessment requirements, funding regulations and learner eligibility.
- Extensive technical knowledge of house building and the governing legislative framework it works within.
- Experience working for a commercial Independent Training Provider, working with external educational organisations and regulators.
- Able to ensure compliance with Awarding Organisation/Funding agencies requirements (where applicable).
- Fully conversant with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and video conferencing with Teams, Zoom Visio, and Windows operating systems.
Relevant assessment qualifications such as the following:
- Relevant Internal Verification qualification/certification such as D34, V1, TAQA (practical application) Level 4 award in Quality Assurance.
- Relevant construction industry qualification at level 6 EG Construction Management Degree, NVQ Site Management or Senior Site Inspection or similar.
- Relevant teaching/training qualification at level 5 or above (DTLLS/DTE or equivalent, Cert Ed, PGCE).
- Qualified Teacher Status.
- Relevant assessment qualification such as D32/33, A1 or level 3 award in Assessing competence in the workplace.
- A member of an applicable Professional Institution such as CIOB, CABE, RICS, or ability to work towards within probationary period.
Education and Qualifications:
