About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our small, dedicated team of career professionals. We are passionate about helping students and graduates achieve the best possible outcome for their future happiness and success. We are looking for a Senior Careers Coach to help us to support students and recent graduates through their journey at AUB and to manage their careers beyond graduation. This role is for maternity cover, initially for 9-12 months.
This is an exciting, varied role working with an amazingly diverse, creative cohort of students, industry partners and colleagues. Every day is different, and you’ll need to enjoy adapting to different roles and working alongside a range of stakeholders. As well as delivering one to one advice and guidance, you’ll be working with academics to provide engaging employability interventions in the curriculum and collaborating with industry and other professional staff to plan industry events and initiatives that are inclusive, relevant, current and inspirational.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have experience in Careers & Employability / Coaching / Training or Teaching or other relevant experience
- Have experience providing guidance to individuals or small groups
- Have experience of building successful professional relationships, networking, influencing, negotiating and maintaining effective stakeholder links
- Have the ability to be empathic and genuine and be sensitive and adaptable to the varying needs of a diverse cohort and variety of stakeholders
- Be interested and enthusiastic in supporting students to develop their careers
- Enjoy facilitating workshops or lectures and experimenting with new ways of engaging students
- Be creative and adaptable to student needs
- Be organised and able to stay on top of varying demands
- Be a great collaborator and enjoy working with a variety of stakeholders
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment and able to adapt to different tasks.
