The Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IFATE) is a government agency which works to ensure the quality of apprenticeships and technical education in England. It sets standards and makes sure the courses offered meet the needs of employers and learners. Through their work, they help to ensure that young people in the UK have the skills and knowledge to compete in a global economy. The IFATE also works to develop and promote apprenticeships and other forms of technical education, such as degree apprenticeships, and to increase the number of apprenticeships available in the UK. They work with employers, providers and other stakeholders to ensure that the apprenticeships and technical education programmes are of the highest quality.
