Role Overview We are seeking an experienced and inspiring Hairdressing Academy Manager/Director to lead our academy, foster meaningful relationships with apprentices and their employers, and ensure high-quality education delivery. This is a dynamic role that combines hairdressing expertise with educational leadership, team management and oversight of our commercial salon. Key Responsibilities - Programme Leadership - Oversee the delivery of hairdressing education programmes for apprentices, ensuring they meet industry standards and best practices. - Team Management - Lead, support and inspire a team of hairdressing educators, relationship managers and salon team, fostering a positive and collaborative environment. - Employer Engagement - Build and maintain strong relationships with employers, ensuring training programmes align with industry needs and apprentices are well-supported. - Salon Management - Oversee operations of the academy's commercial salon, ensuring it remains a valuable resource for apprentice learning and revenue generation. - Quality Assurance - Monitor the quality of teaching, learning and assessment to drive continuous improvement and excellent results for all apprentices. - Compliance & Standards - Ensure all academy operations comply with relevant regulations, health and safety standards and accreditation requirements. - Strategic Development - Contribute to the strategic planning and growth of the academy, identifying opportunities to enhance our programmes and expand our reach. Requirements - Experience - Proven background in hairdressing education or training with recent experience in managing a team in an educational setting. Be fully conversant with the EIF. - Qualifications - Recognised hairdressing qualifications (NVQ Level 3 or above) and relevant teaching, assessing and verification qualifications (e.g., PTTLS, DTTLS or equivalent). - Leadership Skills - Strong organisational and people management skills, with a proven track record of inspiring and developing teams. - Communication Skills - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with apprentices, employers and staff. - Commercial Acumen - Experience of managing a commercial salon or similar business would be beneficial. - Commitment - A passion for hairdressing and a commitment to supporting the next generation of hairdressers.
