ABM Training is an Apprenticeship provider funded through the Education and Skills Funding Agency (EFSA). We train apprentices through the Apprenticeship Levy scheme with a focus on Health and Care, Childcare, Early Years, Teacher, and Teaching Assistant. Delivering apprenticeships through innovating and creating new and exciting ways. We currently support a wide range of clients in Kent, Surrey, and Southeast London, We are looking to recruit an experience Assessor/ Skills Tutor to deliver our high-quality Apprenticeships, and standalone Diploma programmes. You will need to hold up-to-date knowledge of the National Occupational Standards in the Adult Care sector. The Role: The role will include supporting and delivering the Adult Care qualifications up to Level 5. This is a hybrid role: working remotely from home and travelling to visit learners for observations, progress reviews and any additional tutoring required within the Kent, Surrey, and Southeast London region. ABM offers a blended learning apprenticeship incorporating taught CPD Workshops, Virtual Classrooms, RISE eLearning, Video Learning and Work-based Learning. Your role is to Tutor and Coach the apprentice throughout the whole programme providing: Assignments & Projects - Assignment and Project briefs appropriate to the Apprenticeship Standards, Qualification Aims and / or Assessment plan. Research & Presentations - Research and presentation briefs appropriate to the Apprenticeship Standards, Qualification Aims and / or Assessment plan. Observations -You will observe the apprentice in the workplace, assessing their performance and providing practical feedback. Observations may be recorded and uploaded to the learners e-Portfolio Professional Discussions - You will undertake professional discussions with your apprentices and use these to demonstrate progress, knowledge and or skills acquisition. Skills Assessments - Where an apprenticeship standard requires an apprentice to demonstrate a competency you will assess these skills and provide feedback Learning Logs - Ensuring that apprentices in your caseload maintain a regular (minimum fortnightly) learning log detailing their learning activities. Reflective Feedback Journals - Supporting each apprentice as they complete reflective journal entries and learning feedback surveys. Learning Resources - Directing the learner to additional learning resources including, but not limited to, reading lists, videos, eLearning modules, third parties conferences and events. End Point Assessment - Preparing the apprentice and their portfolio for EPA including ‘mock’ assessments. The successful Assessor/Skills Tutor will be responsible for delivering coaching and providing constructive feedback on all elements of the apprenticeship programme. Travel to complete workplace assessments, employer reviews and support the endpoint assessment processes. You will meet and support your apprentice in three ways during their apprenticeship: Workplace Visits - Workplace visits will normally last between 2 and 3 hours and will be used for a variety of purposes (including Learning Reviews) depending on the apprenticeship. Virtual 1-2-1s and Coaching - You will meet with your apprentice fortnightly using a Zoom call. You will use the 1-2-1 to coach, support and direct the apprentices learning and to provide feedback on work submitted / completed to date. 1-2-1s also provide an opportunity for you to offer appropriate pastoral support and / or signpost the apprentice to further learning / provision. Virtual Seminars - Virtual Seminars are used to meet with groups of apprentices at the same time to support peer group work and/or discuss common themes. Virtual seminars are also used to enable apprentices to present work to peers and receive group feedback. The tutoring and coaching function of an ABM Skills Tutor is the heart of the job role and you will build a close working relationship with each of your apprentices, offering additional support which further challenges and stretches learners where this is appropriate. Other duties include. To deliver motivating and inspiring training that supports learners to achieve their personal career objectives. Regularly assess work with integrity and provide constructive feedback timely, supporting apprentices to understand strengths and developmental improvements. Safeguarding, along with the associated elements of Child Protection and the Prevent agenda are integral to all activities associated with ABM Training whether on or off site. Essential criteria: You must hold the relevant D32 / D33, A1, TAQA or equivalent qualification Relevant occupational experience, 2 years’ experience at management level in the Health & Social Care Industry Have own transport and be willing to travelling reasonable distances to undertake workplace assessment and monitoring visits. Be confident in the use of ICT to promote and support teaching, learning and assessment. Have up-to-date knowledge and skills in the subject/vocational area Possess a Health & Social Care NVQ Level 5 or equivalent Salary Package: - salary package to be discussed. - Annual leave 25 days plus public holidays - Personal CPD allowance: £500 per annum ABM Training is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
