JOB REF: 1970: ASSOCIATE LECTURER/COORDINATOR IN ART AND DESIGN (SATURDAY CLUB)
£19.99 - £20.99 per taught hour, dependent on qualifications and experience
Boston College has been collaborating with the National Saturday Club for the past three years to offer an Art and Design pathway for 13–16-year-olds. This program provides an exceptional opportunity to build young people’s creative skills and inspire them to become the next generation of artists, innovators, and entrepreneurs.
As an Art and Design Club Coordinator, you must create a 30-week programme that follows the academic year and provides members with 90 hours of high-quality art tuition, facilitation, and events, such as exhibition visits. You are required to devise and plan an imaginative and engaging teaching programme of Saturday classes that cover a broad range of disciplines within Art. One of the joys of Saturday Clubs is that there are no exams, which gives an opportunity to be experimental and free thinking in your teaching.
You must hold a qualification in the Visual Arts, preferably a Level 5 or higher (Degree or equivalent) or a Level 3 qualification with extensive proven industrial experience. A teaching qualification is advantageous and experience of teaching on Level 3 BTEC courses and of course management, marking and assessment is desirable but not essential.
We offer a secure package including funded teacher training, competitive salaries, generous paid holidays, an employer pension contribution plus access to a healthcare scheme following a probation period. The College’s Teaching and Learning Hub is also accessible with dedicated Advanced Practitioners who provide support to our Lecturers.
For an informal discussion, please contact Scarlet Summerfield, Senior Learning Lead, on 01205 365701 EXT 4478.
