If you would like to apply, please click the link to submit your CV.</p><p><b>Job Description</b></p><p><b>Job title</b></p><p>Construction Assessor</p><p><b>Responsible to:</b></p><p>Operations Manager</p><p><b>Location:</b></p><p>Sheffield - national travel required and overnight stays</p><p><b>Purpose of job</b></p><p>To coach learners through a suitable learning programme in Construction and Plant Operations, from induction to certification. Ensure all assessment, learning, training and testing activities meet the need of the learner and employer, as well as external and internal audit requirements. Particular focus on quality assurance to maximise success rates and learner and employer satisfaction.</p><p><b>Key duties and responsibilities</b></p><p>· Visit learners in their working environment to carry out inductions, reviews, action planning, observations and assessments.</p><p>· Teach, learn, guide and mentor learners throughout their qualification, and embedding Maths and English.</p><p>· Accurate and timely completion of all relevant documentation and records relating to learners training, progress and achievement including;</p><p>o Learner Reviews</p><p>o Records of Assessment</p><p>o Contact Logs</p><p>o Action plans/feedback</p><p>o Training records</p><p>o IV Documentation</p><p>o Any other contractual paperwork</p><p>· Keep up to date with your specific occupational area and with the latest developments in assessment methods.</p><p>· Ensure Learners are fully aware of their progress and where their evidence meets the standards of the qualification.</p><p>· Implement specific training needs to assist learner’s progressions.</p><p>· Provide on-going information, advice and guidance.</p><p>· Pro-actively engage with employers and update them of learners progress.</p><p>· Embed safeguarding, British values, awareness of prevent, equality and diversity and health and safety into the learners programme.</p><p>· Maintain assessment standards to TDLB D32/D33/A1/,TAQA, Standard 9 at all times.</p><p>· Provide support and guidance to learners as well as providing more specific support for additional learning needs and additional social needs.</p><p>· Accurately complete learner Health and Safety documentation and report on any issues.</p><p>· Support and maintain the quality assurance process for assessment, training and verification purposes, in line with Portland Training’s policies and all related Awarding Body procedures and guidelines.</p><p>· Contribute to maintaining delivery, practical and knowledge based skills and identify and record occupational training provided.</p><p>· Committed to continuous improvement – personal and organisational.</p><p>· Increase the portfolio of the company by assisting in the marketing of all areas of the business.</p><p>· Adhere to Portland Training’s IQA policies and procedures.</p><p><b>Skills and Experience</b></p><p>· Experience of embedding functional skills</p><p>· Ability to prioritise workloads</p><p>· Ability to use initiative and be flexible in approach</p><p>· Contribute and work well as part of a team</p><p>· Some supervisory experience is desirable</p><p>· Experience of mentoring, coaching, delivering training or supporting personal development to learners</p><p>Full driving licence, their own vehicle and business insurance as travelling will be required as learners will be spread over a large geographical area</p><p><b>Qualifications</b></p><p>· D32 / 33 or A1 units</p><p>· Recognised Teaching Qualification e.g. PTLLS, CTLLS, DTLLS, Cert Ed, PGCE</p><p>· Functional Skills Level 2 in Maths and English</p><p>· Relevant qualifications in subject area(s):</p><p>o L2 NVQ Certificate in Construction Operations</p><p>o L2 NVQ Certificate in Plant Operations</p><p>o L2 NVQ Diploma in Plant Operations</p><p>· Experience of both paper based and e-portfolios</p><p>Occupationally competent in accordance with Awarding Body guidelines</p><p>Job Types: Full-time, Permanent</p><p>Pay: £34,000.00-£38,000.00 per year</p><p>Additional pay:</p><ul> <li>Bonus scheme</li></ul><p>Benefits:</p><ul> <li>Additional leave</li> <li>Company events</li> <li>Company pension</li> <li>Flexitime</li> <li>Free parking</li> <li>On-site parking</li> <li>Paid volunteer time</li> <li>Referral programme</li> <li>Sick pay</li> <li>Work from home</li></ul><p>Schedule:</p><ul> <li>Monday to Friday</li></ul><p>Experience:</p><ul> <li>Construction: 2 years (required)</li> <li>Assessing: 1 year (required)</li></ul><p>Licence/Certification:</p><ul> <li>Assessors qualification (required)</li></ul><p>Willingness to travel:</p><ul> <li>50% (required)</li></ul><p>Work Location: In person</p><p>Application deadline: 22/11/2024</p></div></body></html>
