Director of English, Maths and On-the-Coast
Within the range of £56,793 to £68,157 per annum
35 hours per week, 52 weeks a year
This is an exciting and excellent career opportunity to join the Senior Management team at Suffolk New College. This role will require you to lead on all strategic aspects of the English and Maths curriculum and the provision at our On-the-Coast campuses at Leiston and Halesworth. Supported by the Curriculum Heads you will have oversight and accountability for the curriculum development, performance and operational delivery.
This is an exciting period of growth and development for the college. The successful applicant will play a key role leading on curriculum planning, including the long-term design of an inspiring Maths and English curriculum, as well as a requirement to work with the curriculum teams to design the curriculum offered at the On-the-Coast campuses.
Reporting to the Deputy Principal, you will pro-actively lead and manage the Directorate to deliver an exceptional student experience.
You will therefore need to be able to demonstrate:
- Strategic vision with the ability to translate to operational outputs and impact;
- Inspirational and motivational leadership qualities;
- Expertise in the curriculum areas of the role with experience of working with young people aged 14+;
- Ability to build and develop sustainable relationships with employers and external agencies;
- Creative, innovative and solution focused approaches, which deliver an exceptional student experience and student outcomes.
You should also hold a relevant degree or professional qualification, Maths and English at level 2 or equivalent alongside a teaching qualification at level 5. Ideally you will also hold a professional management qualification.
This post is based at Suffolk New College Ipswich Campus However, Suffolk New College is a multi-campus site therefore you will be required to work at and travel between campuses.
