Our Learning Support Assistants work with lecturers, tutors and other support staff to enhance our learners’ experience of Post 16 education and help ensure they achieve excellent educational outcomes and progression opportunities. We have a range of posts available on either a full or part time basis (6 hours per day term time only). You may be based on the College’s main campus or on any of the College’s offsite centres such as Withybush or Folly Farm. Salary Details: BS14 BAR 16 - £23,088 BAR £23,124 pro rata This is a 2-point extended scale with progression incrementally on an annual basis. Please note, progression beyond the bar is dependent on an internal set of conditions. Commencing salaries will be assessed in accordance with the College’s starting salaries matrix. Hours of work: We have the following opportunities available; Full time - 30 hours per week (worked over 5 days per week) Part-time (for those interested in less hours) - less than 30 hours per week The working pattern: 9.00am – 4.00pm and will be worked over 36 weeks per year (which are the College’s term weeks from September to June) You will be required to undertake an additional 45 hours (outside of your usual working pattern) over the academic year to undertake duties that will help you develop in your role. This may include attendance at team meetings or College events, CPD activities or administration activities. Contract Type: Permanent and Fixed Term positions. Annualised hours contracts are paid in equal amounts of 12 months (September to August) and the appropriate element of payment for accrued annual leave for the duration of the contract will be incorporated into the calculation. Please note, this is subject to the date of commencement Qualifications: GCSE Grade A-C or equivalent in Maths, Numeracy and English Experience: Previous experience of supporting individuals with a range of learning difficulties or disabilities would be an advantage and also good IT skills.
