Learning Support Assistant - Adult Learners Permanent, Part Time £23,344 Per Annum, Full Time Equivalent - equal to £12.10 per hour. Location: Colchester Working Style: Closing Date: Monday 18th November 2024 at 11.59pm Starting as soon as possible, but likely to be January / February 2025 due to the recruitment and onboarding timescales, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Learning Support Team within ACL Essex. ACL are graded as 'Good' by Ofsted in 2023. The position is being offered on a Part Time Sessional (paid per session you work) basis and is term-time only, working at ACL Colchester, ACL Clacton, and an additional location in Weeley (around a 40 minutes' walk from the nearest public transport). The successful candidate must be willing to travel to all these locations. Note: This position involves working with animals on some days. The salary will be £23,344 per annum as a full time equivalent, pro rata for part time and term time and is equal to an hourly rate of £12.10 per hour. This role is being offered as a sessional contract where you are paid per session worked, with sessions agreed in advanced / on a rota. Role Specifics: Support learners with special educational needs and disabilities (general class and 1:1 support) To support adult learners with a wide range of difficulties and disabilities in classes across all curriculum areas Support learners with challenging behaviour in an educational environment Provide pastoral support to learners within an educational setting To support tutors in their delivery of academic and vocational courses The Experience You Will Bring: Essential: English and Maths qualifications at NQF level 2/GCSE equivalent. Experience of a Learning Support role with Adults or Children within an educational setting or classroom environment. Experience of progress and achievement recording. Supporting Diversity and equality / awareness of the necessity for appropriate adjustments to support learning. Desirable: Have clear knowledge and understanding of safeguarding adults and children. Have a flexible and supportive approach to changing demands. Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
