JOB TITLE: LEARNER SUPPORT OFFICER (BLUEBIRD)

HOURS: 30 PER WEEK, TERM-TIME ONLY (36 WEEKS PER YEAR)
SALARY: £15,168 - £15,302 (£22,551 - £22,751 FTE)
Our Bluebird Programme offers our autistic students the opportunity to develop the confidence, communication, life skills and experience required to progress onto further study options at the college, to begin to consider a future in employment or independent living. Students have regular opportunities to learn out of the classroom in real-life contexts and are supported to develop their independence and coping skills.
Here at CWA we are proud of the success of our Foundation learning provision providing our learners with invaluable support to succeed in their chosen course – from pre-entry to Level 2. We recognise that all learners have differing needs and our continued growth in student numbers pays testament to the high-quality support we provide.
Learner Support Officers within the Bluebird team will support a range of students both within and outside of the classroom. These are varied roles where you can expect to work with learners with Educational Health and Care Plans or recognised special educational needs in areas such as maths, English, art and design, sports, sessions developing independent living skills... and more. No two days are the same.
The successful candidate will ideally have experience of working with young people with autism, whether in or out of paid employment. Previous experience as a Learner Support Officer or Teaching Assistant is desirable but not essential as full training and support will be provided.
