We have a fantastic opportunity for a Lecturer in Business to join our Professional & Leisure Services Department.
As a member of the Business Studies team, you will provide a quality, inspirational, learning experience to prepare students for future studies and employment in the Uniformed Services. You will be passionate about the subject area, working with our students to develop knowledge and skills.

This is a part-time role working 28 hours per week.
Responsibilities include:
- To provide excellent learning, teaching and assessment across agreed provision specified by the Head of Department/Curriculum Area Manager
- Produce excellent plans of learning to support inspirational classroom practice with innovative approaches to improving the learning experience
- To assess the work and progress of all students and provide them with constructive and timely feedback to allow them to progress
- To seek ways of improving student performance by reflecting on teaching design and delivery and obtaining and analysing feedback
- To participate in the maintenance and promotion of close links with employers
- Engage in professional development in relation to teaching, learning and assessment, including the use of an evidence-informed approach
- Contribute to course development and the development of new programmes of study demonstrating an inclusive and collaborative approach to delivery
- Contribute to outreach and/or widening participation activity within the department
- Maintain records of formative and summative assessments of students’ learning carried out
- Pro-actively contribute to the success and vision of the department
- To undertake programme leadership duties as specified by your line manager or the Head of Department
- To ensure that the enrolment, induction, monitoring, profiling and initial assessment of students are successfully completed in a timely manner and in line with college policies
- Devise individual learning plans and provide support for learners in line with the requirements of the curriculum
- To meet the internal student progression targets from level to level and FE-HE
- To be responsible for student discipline, counselling and guidance related to all assigned classes/programmes
- To ensure the student voice informs curriculum design (NSS/Student Council/SOCS etc)

Education & Training
- A recognised teaching qualification or willingness towards a teaching qualification in an agreed time frame
- A level 3 qualification in the subject area or related subject.
- Level 2 or above in English and maths
- A degree in a related subject is desirable but not essential
- Assessor's qualification is desirable but not essential
Experience
- Experience of successful teaching/training and the evidence of performance /data to support it
- Experience in high-quality teaching within an FE environment or equivalent related industrial experience.
- Experience in the effective design and delivery of high-quality inclusive teaching and learning activities
- Up-to-date knowledge of content and methods of teaching and /or supporting learning including the value and use of learning technologies
- A comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of the relevant industry requirements
- Experience in improving the learning, teaching, assessment and feedback methods
- Experience of student pastoral care and disciplinary procedures
- Experience in project lead learning and setting up projects with employers
- Experience in Internal verification and adhering to quality standards
- Ability to deliver engaging online sessions that promote effective progress in learning
