Can you inspire and develop the fabricator welders of the future?If so, we’d like to hear from you as we are seeking to appoint inspirational and dedicated lecturers to join our team. The post holders will join an experienced team and play a critical role in the successful delivery and development of the fabrication and welding within programmes on offer, including apprenticeships and agricultural engineering. The role includes teaching, tutoring and assessment of learners in all aspects of the curriculum in classroom and practical environments. Our broad curriculum offer includes fabrication/welding apprenticeships at level 2 and 3, land based engineering elements within the agriculture programmes and land based engineering at level 3 and. A desire to inspire young people to achieve their goals in the land based sector is essential. If you have not worked in education before but believe you have the skills to do so and are willing to attain a recognised teaching qualification, for which we provide support, then we would be very keen to hear from you. Resources include a dedicated welding suite with additional virtual welding facilities. The post-holder will be responsible for building relationships with the Agriculture and Engineering teams and planning learning to ensure that learners engage fully with the resources throughout the academic year. The agriculture department has an excellent reputation, student numbers are circa 250 and are growing year-on-year. Many of our learners choose to live in college residences during the period of study, and we have national and international learners on programme. Suitable candidates should have the following: Essential: - Level 3 or higher qualification in fabrication welding or similar - Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in the engineering/fabrication industry - GCSE Grade C/4 or above in Maths and English or equivalent - Ability to apply working knowledge of theory and practical to a teaching environment - Commitment to continuous professional development - Willingness to undertake Level 5 teacher training if not already qualified - Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and within a team - Ability to use Microsoft Office - Well organised and able to work under pressure - A desire to interact with young people Desirable but not essential as vocational skills and a desire to inspire are far more important: - Recognised teaching qualification - Previous teaching/training experience - D1 minibus licence - Previous assessing skills/qualifications Want to make a career change and move into teaching?
