This is a full-time Lecturer role (40 hours per week), and you will be based at either or both of the following campuses: Eastgate House Campus – 40 Dukes Place, London, EC3A 7LP. Wentworth House Campus - 350 Eastern Avenue, Gants Hill, London IG2 6NW. And any additional campuses in London. Application Deadline 16 December 2024 Role and Responsibilities As a Lecturer at UKCBC, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational experiences of our students and preparing them for success in an evolving professional landscape. Your responsibilities will include: Teaching and Learning Delivering engaging, high-quality teaching to undergraduate and postgraduate students using a range of approaches, including online and blended learning. Supervising student projects and dissertations, providing tailored academic support to meet individual learning needs. Preparing detailed lesson plans and uploading teaching materials to online learning platforms in advance of sessions. Providing timely, constructive feedback on assessments to support student development. Student Support Acting as a personal tutor for allocated student groups, supporting their academic and professional progression. Identifying individual student learning needs, including those requiring additional support, and ensuring appropriate arrangements are in place. Curriculum Development Participating in curriculum review and enhancement to ensure alignment with industry standards and academic best practices. Leading and managing modules as required, including coordinating with other academics to ensure consistency and quality. Professional Development and Compliance Engaging in personal professional development and training sessions to maintain and enhance teaching and research skills. Ensuring compliance with partner university rules, regulations, and academic standards. Contributing to quality assurance processes, including module evaluations and responding to student feedback. Contribution to the College Community Supporting the broader academic community through mentoring, committee participation, and knowledge exchange. Representing UKCBC at public engagement events, including student recruitment and outreach initiatives. Essential Criteria A master’s degree in a relevant field, awarded with merit or distinction (or equivalent). Evidence of the ability to deliver effective teaching, assessment, and module review, supported by teaching feedback or outcomes. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to meet the needs of diverse learners and a commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion in practice. A proactive approach to professional development and academic growth, with a willingness to contribute to a supportive and inclusive academic community. Desirable Criteria A PhD in a relevant field, or evidence of progress towards attaining one. Experience in interdisciplinary teaching, with a commitment to innovative teaching practices and ongoing professional development. Experience as a Module Leader or in curriculum design, including developing teaching materials and addressing the learner journey, with demonstrated contributions and measurable impacts in teaching or research. Familiarity with research software and strong IT proficiency. Networks with relevant employers or industry professionals in your subject area. Experience teaching at Level 6 or Level 7.
