Leicester College's Apprenticeship and Commercial Operations Department is seeking a full-time lecturer to deliver on their Engineering Apprenticeship programme.

The ideal candidate will have a passion to continually develop the high standards required to be a Fabrication and Welding Lecturer. You will have hands on experience of areas including safe operation of a range of fabrication machinery and equipment in both plate work and sheet metal to fabricate a range of components. The ideal candidate will also have an experience of welding with a range of electric arc processes including MIG/MAG, TIG and MMA welding to complete joints to a high standard.
You will also work as part of a team, provide feedback in a way that motivates individuals and help learners overcome potential barriers to progress and achieve. We are looking for a positive, proactive, solutions focused individual to help us drive the provision to support our journey to outstanding.
Knowledge of the Apprenticeship Standards, E - portfolio’s (Smart Assessor) and experience of working with students would be beneficial along with excellent communication skills and a 'can do' approach to tasks.
Qualifications
- You must hold at least a Level 3 qualification within fabrication AND welding.
- Achieved a Level 2 qualification or equivalent in maths and English.
- You must have relevant experience within the Engineering industry.
- Desirable welding qualification test to BSEN 9606 or BS 4872.
- Applicants will be required to hold a full teaching qualification at Level 5 or above or be willing to work towards obtaining one. If you do not hold a suitable teaching qualification, the College will support you to obtain this as part of our investment in your professional development.
- You must hold or be prepared to work towards an Assessors award e.g. A1/TAQA or equivalent.
