The School of Law
We are currently looking for a Lecturer to join our School of Law in our London sites, as part of our ongoing growth and development. The School of Law sits within the Faculty of Social Sciences and is part of a friendly, supportive academic community. As a Lecturer in Law, you will contribute to the development and delivery of our new degree programmes, with a particular focus on our new practice-ready LLB which aligns with the new Solicitors Qualifying Exam. All of our Lecturers in Law are highly motivated and committed to creating inventive, excellent learning environments for all of our students.
The Role – Lecturer in Law
As a Lecturer in Law, you will report into one of our Senior Lecturers in Law within the school and be based out of our Holborn or Tower Hill campuses. As a Lecturer in Law, you will:
- Deliver engaging and dynamic lectures both face-to-face and online for our blended and distance learning students.
- Take on module leadership, ensuring consistent quality and development of learning materials and schemes of work.
- Oversee assessment marking, create authentic assessments, and provide high-quality feedback.
- Lead or support the creation of new programmes and refresh existing ones to align with industry trends and employer requirements.
- Collaborate with colleagues to provide academic advice and support to students.
- Drive innovation in teaching methods, student support, and assessment techniques.
About You:
Essential Skills / Experience
- You will be qualified to postgraduate level in English Law.
- You should have the knowledge to be able to teach across the LLB curriculum including the foundations of legal knowledge and at least two other modules offered by the School of Law. This includes modules linked to the SQE curriculum.
Desirable Skills / Experience
- A PhD in Law and/or legal practice experience is welcome but not essential.
- Ideally, you will hold FHEA or an equivalent teaching qualification. However, we are prepared to support the successful candidate in obtaining a recognised HE teaching Qualification and advanced HE Fellowship at the appropriate level.
