Lecturer in Pottery
Hours: Tuesday evenings 6-9pm
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Art & Design team as a part time Lecturer in Pottery which involves the delivery of effective teaching, marketing, delivery and assessment to Adult learners for short courses of Pottery.
Suitable applicants must possess an industry recognised qualification in a relevant field at Level 3, or recent industry experience to this level, a Teaching Qualification to the required national standards, a Level 2 qualification in English, Mathematics and ITQ or a willingness to work towards the qualifications in a timely manner are essential requirements for this role.
Successful applicants will have experience of recently working within a practical pottery-based environment and knowledge of current regulations, practices, procedures and legislation and ideally have previous experience in a similar role, ideally within an FE environment.
Main Duties for this role include:
- To plan teaching, learning and assessment for college programmes using the appropriate college format to ensure effective learning.
- To deliver teaching and learning to at least a consistently good or outstanding standard to achieve high success rates.
- To assess accurately learners work both formatively and summatively against appropriate awarding body criteria to ensure learners achieve their qualifications.
- To use all appropriate resources effectively to ensure that the learners’ experience results in positive learning outcomes and high professional standards.
- To support learners progress through personal tutoring and parent/careers evenings to help learners achieve their full potential and progress appropriately.
