The opportunity we have:
The School of Construction, Building Services and Automotive, based at Stephenson Road (Basildon College), offer vocational qualifications in motor vehicle, construction and building services from entry level, up to level 3, to both study programme students and apprentices.
Based at our Stephenson Road campus (Basildon College), we are hiring for a Lecturer in Multi-Skills to help deliver our City & Guilds qualifications, with particular experience in teaching carpentry and joinery, brickwork, painting and decorating, tiling and plastering.
With state-of-the-art facilities, you will deliver first class teaching on related topics. Working within an established and evolving team you will demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching in FE.
As a minimum, candidates will ideally possess the following:
- Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) within construction.
- Previous experience delivering Multi Skill courses.
- A broad range of knowledge of the construction industry.
- Experience working with young people of varying abilities to develop their confidence
- Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one.
- Assessors and IQA qualifications or willingness to work towards one.
- Has Health & Safety qualification/ or relevant experience or willing to gain these
- Has relevant industry/professional experience within the relevant sector.
- Has knowledge of current developments in relevant vocational area.
- You'll also have exceptional organisational skills combined with good IT knowledge and sound administration skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to effectively motivate and inspire others.

Levelling Up Premium
