About the role:
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic lecturer to deliver Maths & English. You will be a key colleague in our team and be mentored, receive a full induction and have continuous support and guidance.
We would also consider Trainee Lecturer candidates who are looking to develop existing skills and gain valuable experience as an English & Maths Lecturer. You will use your SEN skills in the development, preparation and delivery of the Core skills curriculum through programmes and lessons which meet individual learner needs.
You will earn as you learn and in the first year will begin your teacher training, achieving a level 5 Teaching Qualification by the end of the programme.
Use your professional skills in the development, preparation and delivery of the curriculum through programmes which meet individual learner needs.
- Identify, plan and deliver skills and knowledge to learners in the educational, work and living environment with a clear focus on embedding English and Maths through project based learning.
- Responsibility for assessing learner abilities across key curriculum areas.
- Support learners in gaining appropriate accredited qualifications wherever possible.
- Contribute to the identification of new teaching materials, methods and resources to help learners maximise progress including, as appropriate, the use of blended learning through our virtual learning platform.
- Maintain records of teaching sessions, prepare learner progress reports, following college systems as well as participation in curriculum meetings.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on learner progress for EHCP review processes.
- Participate in 6-weekly 1-1’s with your Line Manager
What you will need in order to be considered for this Lecturer opportunity.
- Educated to relevant PGCE or CertED teaching qualification or willingness to work towards teaching qualification. For example, 7302 (PTTLS) first stage teaching
- Assessors award or willingness to work towards within 2 years
- Previous teaching experience or familiar with LLDD provision is desirable
- Functional Skills qualification level 3 or equivalent in English or Maths
- Evidence of ongoing CPD
- Registration with the SET
- Clear evidence of achievement of individual targets
- In order to be considered for this role, you will require high levels of accuracy, presentation skills and effective resource management
- Extensive experience either within industry or within an SEN setting, utilising Maths and/or English

Contract: You will be employed on a permanent contract, working 36.25 hours per week. 8.45am – 5pm.
