The Role:
As a Maths Tutor at Juniper Training, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality maths education to learners on apprenticeship programmes. Your enthusiasm for the subject and ability to connect with learners will help them develop essential mathematical skills and confidence. You will have the opportunity to:
- Deliver Engaging Training: Conduct innovative and interactive group training sessions that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Develop Work Skills: Ensure that students acquire essential work skills, preparing them for successful careers upon completing their apprenticeship.
- Enhance Learning Experiences: Engage external speakers, including employers, business leaders and support agencies, to enrich the learning journey.
- Facilitate Enterprise Projects: Plan and manage enterprise projects that foster creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork.
- Deliver Qualifications: Teach and assess learners working toward GCSE and Functional Skills qualifications, ensuring they meet criteria and standards for BTEC where applicable.
- Organise Motivational Activities: Arrange and lead motivational visits and activities to inspire and engage learners.
Assessment Responsibilities:
- Conduct Initial Assessments: Use initial assessments to set appropriate, yet challenging, targets and goals for students.
- Evaluate Exam Readiness: Assess students' readiness for Functional Skills and GCSE exams.
- Map BTEC Units: Assess and map units for BTEC portfolios where applicable.
- Conduct Student Reviews: Document and conduct meaningful student reviews in line with procedures.
- Exam Invigilation and Marking: Invigilate exams and mark functional skills exam papers as appropriate.
What We’re Looking For:
- Passion for Teaching: A genuine desire to make a positive impact on learners' lives through education.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage and motivate learners.
- Subject Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of mathematics and the ability to convey complex concepts clearly.
- Experience: Experience in teaching or tutoring maths, especially within apprenticeship programmes, is desirable but not essential.
- Innovative Approach: A creative approach to teaching that incorporates new methodologies and engages students effectively.
- Team Player: A friendly and approachable personality that aligns with our company culture.
