Your primary focus will be to safeguard the welfare of all students, promote British Values, and prevent radicalisation. You will play a key role in managing safeguarding protocols, improving student attendance, and ensuring the overall well-being of our students. Key Responsibilities: Safeguarding: Lead on all safeguarding matters within the Centre. Maintain and update safeguarding records in line with legislation and best practices. Stay informed about current safeguarding legislation, including "Keeping Children Safe in Education." Coordinate support from external agencies to provide students with the help they need. Attendance: Promote a culture of high expectations regarding student attendance. Monitor and follow up on student absences, ensuring robust intervention strategies. Hold meetings with parents/guardians to address attendance concerns. Information, Advice, and Guidance (IAG): Support students in fulfilling their potential by raising aspirations and expectations. Provide access to information on local and national support agencies for career and educational advice. Ensure that students receive the guidance they need to take their next steps confidently. Progression: Collaborate with Centre staff to ensure all students progress to a positive destination. Track student progression and provide ongoing support even after they complete the program. Network and engage in marketing activities to promote the Centre's success stories. Targets: Achieve the targets set to meet contractual and performance obligations. Person Specification: Essential Qualifications and Experience: Level 2 in English and Maths Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation Experience working with 16-18-year-olds Desirable Qualifications and Experience: CEIAG Level 3/4 qualification Level 3 safeguarding training Experience in the Education/Training sector Skills and Attributes: Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with students, parents, and external stakeholders. Strong organisational and planning abilities. Innovative, solution-focused, and able to work on your own initiative. Ability to handle challenging behaviour with a positive, persistent approach.
