Job Title: Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Trainer (Social Care)

Location: Warwickshire, Coventry, Staffordshire, Worcester, Stoke (Travel is usually planned 2 months in advance, with occasional overnight stays required)

As a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Trainer, you will play a critical role in equipping our staff with the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver exceptional care.
Role Overview:
We are looking for a dynamic and passionate PBS Trainer with a strong background in care to deliver specialized training across various topics, including Positive Behaviour Support, physical intervention (in line with the Restraint Reduction Network Training Standards), and person-specific conditions. You will work closely with Practitioners to tailor and deliver training solutions that meet the needs of our teams, ensuring consistency and quality across your area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver Engaging Training: Motivate and inspire staff to enhance their skills, focusing on PBS and other critical areas of support.
- Plan and Execute Learning Activities: Develop and deliver effective training sessions for diverse groups, fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Promote Best Practices: Advocate for least restrictive practices and demonstrate a thorough understanding of PBS principles.
- Support Learners: Identify and address individual learning needs, working creatively to overcome barriers to learning.
- Feedback and Improvement: Provide constructive feedback to learners and managers, continuously improving training methods and content.
- Consistency in Delivery: Ensure that learning materials are delivered consistently across your area while personalizing your approach to engage learners.
- Become a Training Lead: Develop expertise in specific areas such as Autism, Acquired Brain Injury, or Mental Health to lead training initiatives.
Essential Experience, Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a support or care role within healthcare, social care, or education.
- Proven knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) concepts, strategies, and implementation.
- Willingness to undertake Training of Trainer programs for physical intervention systems (e.g., NAPPI, PROACT-SCIPr-UK®).
- Possess or be willing to achieve a Level 3 Award in Education and Training (QCF) or equivalent accredited training qualification.
- Strong organizational, planning, and presentation skills, with the capacity to work independently and collaboratively.
