Job Summary Prevent is part of CONTEST, the Government’s Counter-Terrorism strategy. The aim of Prevent is to stop people becoming terrorists or supporting terrorism. We do this by challenging terrorist ideology, supporting vulnerable people, and supporting sectors and institutions where there are risks of radicalisation. This role will work to the Regional Prevent Coordinator for London to increase our capacity for Prevent Delivery in the city region. Job Description The work broadly splits into the following three categories: Focussed Delivery: Working with Local Authorities across London to maintain and build relationships with their Prevent and Education departments. Utilising available data and analytics to prioritise relationship management across Local Authorities in London. Attend Prevent Boards in Local Authorities that are deemed a priority. Identify gaps and fact find in education support in Local Authorities, working with the coordinator in linking to appropriate offerings of support and linking to the universal offer. Identify key contacts in all boroughs and ensure relationships are maintained with those contacts. Assisting education providers who are identified as needing further support with the Prevent Duty by Ofsted and the Office for Students. Link with London stakeholders such as the Mayor’s Office to ensure join up and greater partnership working. Reactive Delivery: Support Coordinator to resolve complex cases which require a wider range of considerations and escalate issues where necessary. Person specification Essential Criteria: Experience of working in Prevent and or Safeguarding within an education context. Experience of partnership working, managing numerous and complex stakeholders with competing priorities. Experience of risk-based prioritisation in how you manage your time and workload. Experience of communicating to different audiences through a variety of mediums. Desirable Criteria: Previous experience in counterterrorism or National Security. Casework management experience.
