Job Summary The Skills Development Practitioner will play a critical role in supporting learners across the PRP Training Ltd in achieving their literacy, numeracy, and digital literacy goals. Reporting to the General Manager, this position is responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating skills development initiatives, supporting a positive learner experience, and ensuring that training interventions meet the needs of diverse learner groups. Qualifications and Skills Education: Assessors Award / Verifiers Award Experience: Proven experience in skills development, adult education, or a similar role within a learning environment. Skills: Proficiency in digital learning tools and platforms, with experience in diagnostic assessment tools (e.g., WEST toolkit). Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to engage and motivate diverse learner groups. Knowledge of EDI practices and commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment. Key Responsibilities 1. Skills Development and Learner Support 2. Organise, lead, and facilitate engaging workshops focused on essential skills development in literacy, numeracy, and digital literacy. This includes: 3. Conduct diagnostic assessments using tools like the WEST toolkit to identify individual learner needs in literacy, numeracy, and digital literacy. 4. Develop Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and set tailored, meaningful targets that address each learner’s specific skill gaps. 5. Support learners’ progress through regular reviews and ensure effective target setting for continuous improvement in essential skills. 6. Collaborate with colleagues to embed literacy, numeracy, and digital literacy into learners' overall training programs, fostering a holistic approach to skills development. Professional Development Participate in CPD opportunities related to skills development, mental health first aid, and safeguarding to maintain up-to-date knowledge and practices. One CPD day per month (or equivalent 8 hours) to be taken as part of normal working hours. Engage in regular training on new tools and methods to enhance literacy, numeracy, and digital literacy skills delivery.
