Position: Supported Futures –Life skills tutor - Curriculum design and delivery focus Based – at various YMCA Derbyshire delivery sites Salary – £23,310 - £24,510 Pro Rata (depending on qualifications) Hours– 28 hours per week This is an exciting opportunity for you to join the team at YMCA Derbyshire; a charity at the heart of the community in Derbyshire. Within this role is to you will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of a life skills programme to a group 10 learners with SEMH needs ensuring that learning outcomes are met. You will be working within a team of 3 people to ensure that the young people receive the education, training, and wellbeing support the require to enable them to progress into further education, employment and transition into independent living. You will be required to comply with funding body and awarding organisation requirements in terms of administration and registration of learners and to ensure high standards are achieved and maintained in line with quality improvement and regulatory requirements. You will be required to provide a high quality, non-judgemental, empowering, holistic service by delivering an effective and efficient service to learners and promoting a safe and caring environment. It is our responsibility to ensure we focus on developing solutions and assets instead of just supporting problems and deficits. We must look for qualities in people that can be nurtured as assets and strengthened through new experiences. Putting plans in place that will develop these qualities and enabling people to thrive, not just supporting people to cope. Duties will involve ; Development and delivery of a life skills curriculum to develop young people with SEMH needs to enable effective next steps into independent living, further education or employment. You will operate as the lead for this area of work. Creating a learning environment were development of positive relationships and behaviours is core to delivery. To operate as part of the broader Key college team to meet organisational needs. To assist in ensuring compliance with all core external partner and internal organisational policies, procedures and processes. Requirements: The appointment is subject to YMCA Derbyshire receiving two satisfactory references, an Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check and a six-month probationary period.
