Main purpose of the role:
Working in partnership with the business and Head of Early Careers, you’ll support the design, creation & implementation of Early Careers (EC) development programmes that meet the needs of each business function throughout St. James’s Place (SJP). Our EC programmes include internships, apprenticeships and graduates.
Identify where consistency Is required and where a more tailored approach Is needed to provide the best and most successful outcomes. This role will work closely with business functions and Strategic People Partners to understand the early career hiring demands and how they contribute towards the SJP business plan.
What you’ll be doing:
- With a focus on EC Development, you’ll work with the Learning & Development function to create and deliver onboarding, inductions & skills development programs (for all EC hires), with the majority of time spent on the development programmes for apprentices & graduates.
- You’ll act as the conduit between early career contacts for each business function and EC Attraction & Recruitment Partner colleagues.
- You’ll be the key point of contact for EC stakeholders (eg Line Managers) and HRBPs in relation to the design and delivery of divisional EC programmes in the current and future EC cycles.
- You’ll be expected to deputise for the Head of EC as and when required.
- Utilise data from EC employee performance ratings and promotions to inform recommendations to the Head of EC on improvements.
- Use your knowledge of apprenticeships to advise on relevant qualifications for each programme and qualification providers to support.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of an EC line manager toolkit (helping managers better manage their EC talent, best use of apprenticeship levy funding and learning & development support available).
- Supporting our Attraction and Recruitment Specialists with high volume recruitment when required.
Who we’re looking for:
- A strong understanding of Early Careers and experience in delivering EC programmes is essential to partner with the business to educate on the value and benefits of each programme.
- Great collaboration skills, working with senior leaders to seek out and act upon feedback to enhance the delivery and strategy direction of the EC development programmes.
- Experience in working with and creating development and training plans for early careers talent and as a minimum working knowledge of apprenticeships.
- Early Careers experience from within any sector. Applications welcome from (but not limited to) HR Business Partners and HR Managers with EC experience.
- You’ll have an established external Early Careers network to draw from.
