Job Title: Functional Skills Tutor
Location: Gloucestershire, UK
Salary: £28,000 - £34,500 per annum (dependent on experience)
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated English Functional Skills Tutor to join our team at an independent specialist college. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching in English to students with special educational needs.
You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons that cater to the diverse needs of learners, creating a safe and supportive classroom environment, and assessing student progress fairly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver effective lessons that meet the needs of all learners
- Use various teaching methods and tools to make learning inclusive and engaging
- Create a respectful and valued classroom environment
- Assess learners fairly and help them understand their progress
- Keep accurate records of student progress and contribute to quality checks
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and external organizations to support learner needs
- Illustrate the relevance of the subject to real-world topics
- Pursue ongoing professional development and share best practices
- Adhere to safeguarding, equality, and health and safety protocols
- Foster connections to resources and opportunities for further study and careers
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher with QTS/QTLS or equivalent
- Minimum Level 3 qualifications in Mathematics and English
- Experience teaching students with special educational needs
- Proven success in delivering Functional Skills curricula
