Associate Lecturer
About the Role
The Associate Lecturer role in the School of Higher Education will involve delivering a range of content either across multiple modules or within a specific subject area.
The position will be hybrid, with a combination of face-to-face and online teaching, and will require the successful candidate to ensure students engage with their module, achieve learning outcomes, and enjoy a high-quality student experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Teaching and Learning:
- Deliver lectures, seminars, and tutorials to students
- Maintain attendance records and collaborate with the attendance team
- Ensure teaching materials are adjusted for learners' needs
- Update digital resources and class notes regularly
- Assessment and Marking:
- Set and support assessments for students
- Participate in standardization and moderation meetings
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students
- Identify and escalate cases of possible academic misconduct
- Student Support:
- Address student engagement or performance issues
- Field pastoral requirements and signpost students to specialist services
- Monitor individual students' learning plans and liaise with specialist services
- Quality Assurance:
- Contribute to programme evaluations and accreditation processes
- Engage with quality assurance frameworks and attend relevant meetings
- Reflect on student feedback and contribute to continuous improvement
