The Moving and Handling Team are looking for a proactive Manual Handling Trainer to support the delivery of a range of Moving and Handling Programmes, utilising a range of methods to ensure that all training is based on best practice, meets legislative guidance and is appropriate to all staff needs.
The post holder will support the Moving and Handling Advisor to achieve the objectives and service plans of the team.
In addition, the post holder will ensure compliance with the Trust’s Risk Management Policies & Procedures, monitoring and advising staff on best moving and handling practices within the workplace and supporting the completion of risk assessments and the formulation of risk reduction measures.
The post will be based at Lincoln Hospital with movement to some Pan Trust areas in which to deliver or to support training with your colleagues.
Develop Manual Handling training alongside the rest of the Manual Handling team
To deliver education programmes to staff in a formal teaching forum as well as in the work place.
Monitor the impact of training programmes provided by undertaking a variety of manual handling audits and analysing the results against standards within the Trust Compliance Framework.
Develop with the Manual Handling Adviser and trainers, a programmes of training to support staff in achieving manual handling and ergonomic objectives within ward and department areas across the Trust.
Assist the Manual Handling Advisor to monitor all Manual Handling Incidents and to carry out as required investigations into incidents through the root cause analysis process and putting in place additional training requirements.
To maintain collaborative working relationships with Staff side Representatives.
To promote Manual Handling Training within the Trust, ensuring information is communicated and disseminated appropriately.
To undertake professional development training to maintain skills and competency within their job role
Development, implementation and monitoring of training programmes on Manual Handling and Ergonomic Topics

Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) and United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT) have come together in a Group arrangement, with the goal of improving the care provided to patients across the county.
This will not constitute a formal merger of the two organisations, but will bring the Trusts together under a single Board and Executive Leadership Team, with the goal of improving the care that is provided to patients both in the community and in hospitals across Lincolnshire.
