Salary: £45,163 - £56,921per annum (Grade 6)
Expected minimum hours of work: 35 hours per week/full time Please note, this role is based at our Merchiston Campus in Edinburgh. Due to the nature of this role, you will be required to be on campus to deliver campus-based teaching activities for a period of 6 months. The School of Computing, Engineering & the Built Environment is embarking on a major development in the area of Industry 4.0, bringing together computer science, engineering, mathematics, and construction technology. The School has one of the UK's largest computer science departments and it houses leading UK research centres in transportation and sustainable construction.
With over 200 academics and 3,100 campus-based students, we deliver programmes with professional accreditations from the British Computer Society, Institution of Engineering and Technology, The Chartered Institute of Building and other accreditation bodies.

The Role: We are currently recruiting for a Lecturer to provide teaching activities over a period of 6 months to support our students joining in Trimester 3 in various modules (with topics including web development, project management and business analysis). This post may be particularly suitable for early career or established academics who are looking for flexible lecturing opportunities. You will be mentored and guided by Edinburgh Napier staff in the delivery of modules, using materials provided. You will monitor the performance of the students, working with our Academic Skills colleagues and other University services to support their progress. You will also undertake the assessment of these students, again using assessment instruments provided, and under the guidance of experienced staff. You will work collegiately to help deliver an excellent learning and teaching experience for our students.
We’re looking for you to have excellent communication and effective interpersonal skills with the ability to listen, engage and inspire others. You will have the opportunity to work closely with module and programme teams and team leaders.
What we will need from you:- A Doctorate in a relevant discipline
- Experience of delivering high quality teaching/learning.
- Commitment to face-to-face teaching on-campus.
- Ability to communicate accurately and fluently at a high level of English proficiency.
- Ability to respond sensitively to students with different needs and backgrounds.
