We are growing our Occupational Therapy team due to continued expansion of ourteaching portfolio. Our teaching team has a range of expertise in all areas ofoccupational therapy and is responsible for a distinctive and high-qualityeducation portfolio which includes the BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy, BScOccupational Therapy Degree Apprenticeship, the pre-registration MScOccupational Therapy and MSc Advanced Practice in Sensory Integration. Inaddition, the team contributes to cross- Department and cross-College teachingincluding inter-professional education and CPD provision.
You will be involved in the delivery of our MSc Occupational Therapy courseand inter-professional portfolio where there will be opportunities to take onacademic leadership responsibilities. We are looking for an individual who caninspire our students, and make a valuable contribution to their learningexperience, whilst preparing them for contemporary practice. Alongside this,is the opportunity to develop your career to further your own clinicalacademic profile and enhance your teaching accessing a PG Cert in HE inTeaching and Learning.
You must be an HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist and have well-developedand current knowledge and understanding of critical, practical, andtheoretical issues relevant to contemporary practice and pre-registrationeducation.
You will ideally be at the forefront of new ways of working in the NHS, ineither primary or secondary settings, demonstrating care innovation andemergent management pathways.
We are currently developing a team of senior lecturers to support placementlearning and simulation activities. It is envisaged that this post will lead,and co-ordinate placement learning for our MSc Occupational Therapy course,supporting innovation and quality of occupational therapy practice educationin higher education whilst continuing to build and retain strong links withour employers and stakeholders.
The role also requires you to contribute to our pre-registration coursesthrough teaching, assessing and academic citizenship/research activity. Theability to inspire, enthuse and connect with a range of backgrounds isrequired. You will support students' academic, and placement learningprogression and work collaboratively to enhance the student experience.
