Job Title: Freelance Tutor – SSSTS/SMSTS Trainer

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Freelance Tutors to deliver SSSTS and SMSTS training courses, tailored specifically for the construction and plant sectors. The successful candidate will have a strong background in health and safety within the construction industry, experience delivering accredited CITB (Construction Industry Training Board) courses, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and informative SSSTS/SMSTS courses to individuals and teams.
- Ensure compliance with CITB and industry standards throughout all training sessions.
- Tailor content to address the needs of plant operators and construction site supervisors/managers.
- Assess learners’ progress through quizzes, assessments, and feedback.
- Prepare and maintain training materials, ensuring they remain current and relevant.
- Provide learners with post-course support and guidance, if required.
- Maintain accurate training records and report on course outcomes.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- CITB-approved Trainer certification for delivering SSSTS and SMSTS courses.
- Proven experience in the construction or plant industries, preferably with a focus on safety and compliance.
- Strong understanding of current health and safety regulations (e.g., CDM 2015, COSHH, risk assessments, etc.).
- A valid Health and Safety qualification, such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent.
- Exceptional presentation and communication skills.
- Ability to manage a diverse group of learners and adapt teaching methods to suit varying skill levels.
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of plant machinery and operations.
- Experience with online training delivery platforms (if remote courses are offered).
- First Aid or Mental Health First Aid qualifications.
