The University of Sunderland’s School of Medicine has welcomed its sixth cohort of students.
With a track record of excellence in health education spanning almost 100 years, the University is well placed to contribute to the expansion of medical training and help to address the chronic shortage in some medical specialties including general practice in the North East. We have a significant focus on widening access and will deploy our expertise to ensure we recruit students from the communities they will ultimately serve.

About the role
This programme is a key tenet of theme 4 of the GMCs Promoting Excellence within the School of Medicine.
As a Senior Lecturer in medical education you will join a core team of three and an extended team of academic tutors. You will work closely with the Programme Lead and medical school clinical and academic colleagues. You will contribute to campus-based teaching and learning on the MBChB programme as appropriate. You will contribute to the leadership of the annual medical education conference.
What you can bring
The successful candidate will have commitment and enthusiasm for Undergraduate and Postgraduate medical education and an ability to work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders. You will have substantial and significant teaching experience at undergraduate /postgraduate level, demonstrating teaching innovation in aspects of course development, design and delivery.
