About the role Applications are invited for a new academic post at Senior Lecturer (clinical) level to be based jointly between Imperial College’s School of Public Health (SPH) and the Department of Metabolism Digestion and Reproduction /Division of Digestive Diseases in the Faculty of Medicine. The post will be situated within the MRC Centre for Global Infectious Disease Analysis within the Department of Infectious Disease Epidemiology. What you would be doing
The postholder will play a key role in the development of research programmes in hepatology and public health aligned with one or more of the MRC Centre’s priority research areas:
- Preparedness and Response to Emerging Threats
- Global Health Analytics
- Vaccines and Therapeutics
- Pathogen Genomic Epidemiology
The post involves both research and teaching responsibilities. The postholder will play a key role in the development of world-leading research programmes in their area of expertise.
What we are looking for
The postholder will be expected to contribute towards the Centre’s wider activities, encompassing a team science approach to addressing global health priorities. The postholder is also expected to contribute to the Faculty’s successful and expanding undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programs. The post holder will carry out research and teaching activities at a level appropriate to the level of appointment.
In addition, the appointee will be required to share some commitment to the administrative activities associated with the busy academic and research-active environment of the School. Depending on background and experience, the postholder will have the opportunity to take a wider leadership role in the MRC Centre, the School of Public Health and more generally in the Faculty of Medicine. The post holder may also be required to undertake other duties, as required by the MRC Centre Director, Head of School of School of Public Health and Head of Department of Metabolism Digestion and Reproduction/Division of Digestive Diseases.
