Job Description
The Director Regional Training and Development is responsible for the planning, development, implementation, coordination and continuous improvement of scalable training and development programs within Operations of the region and the Regional Training team.
This role ensures that employees across the region possess the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles, with a specific emphasis on technical capabilities, compliance, and organizational alignment.
The Director collaborates closely with the global operations training team, other regional training teams, HR, Operations, and subject matter experts to design and deliver effective training solutions tailored to meet the diverse needs of the organization.

Training Needs Analysis
- Collaborate with departmental managers, HR, and regional/sub-regional/local operations to identify training needs and skill gaps.
- Conduct surveys, interviews, and assessments to gather information on training requirements.
- Analyze current and future training needs and identify skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed.
Training Program Development
- Collaborate with global and regional training teams to design and develop comprehensive training programs and materials, including manuals, online modules, videos, and more, tailored to both technical and non-technical roles and aligning with industry best practices
- Represent the unique training needs of the EMEA region in global training initiatives.
- Work with subject matter experts and stakeholders to ensure the relevance and effectiveness of training content.
- Customize training programs where appropriate to meet the specific needs of different roles within the organization.
Training Documentation And Evaluation
- Maintain accurate records of training attendance, feedback, and completion certificates.
- Generate and analyze training reports to track progress and provide insights to management.
- Coordinate with the global training team to assess post-training feedback, evaluate existing programs, identify gaps, and provide insights for continuous improvement and alignment with global standards
- Follow up on Global training KPI’s to measure effectiveness of the training programs
Digital University Administration
- Oversee the day-to-day running of Digital University, including end-user support and compliance management.
- Track, monitor, and report on training programs, completions, certifications, and end-of-course evaluations.
- Ensure content is regularly updated and inactivate irrelevant material.
Technical Expertise And Continuous Improvement
- Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and technologies to ensure training programs remain current and effective.
- Identify opportunities to improve training processes and materials and collaborate with the global and regional training teams to develop solutions.
- Engage with the data center and training communities to stay informed about best practices and innovations.
New Hire And Traineeship Programs
- Lead the planning, formulation, and implementation of traineeship, apprenticeship, and new hire training programs.
- Promote awareness and understanding of training opportunities among employees and provide necessary information about available programs.
Experience
What you'll need
- Significant experience building learning and development programs in a technical field.
- Significant experience of working in multiple counties across EMEA
- Experience of working in a matrix organization
Skills
- Strong project management skills to oversee multiple training initiatives simultaneously. Ability to coordinate resources, timelines, and stakeholders efficiently.
- Proficiency in data center technologies and infrastructure management (a plus).
- Understanding instructional design principles and adult learning theories to create impactful training programs, particularly with e-learning platforms and training software.
- Ability to align training initiatives with organizational goals.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for the diversity of the workforce and the ability to create inclusive training programs that cater to varied learning styles and backgrounds.
- Capacity to analyze data related to employee performance, learning outcomes, and training effectiveness. Ability to use data insights to drive continuous improvements.
Certifications
- Certified in Instructional Design (preferred).
Additional Requirements
- Ability to travel as required to various data center locations.
