The Role
We are seeking a Level 6 qualified Careers Adviser who is passionate about empowering students through personalised and strategic career planning. This in-person role involves delivering student-centred information, advice, and guidance to help students make informed and ambitious career decisions. You will play a pivotal role in supporting students with applications for apprenticeships, college, sixth forms, and other post-16 and 18 opportunities. A mandatory DBS check is required for this role, as well as a full driving licence. You must be able to travel to schools in the Manchester area.
This is an academic term time only role, which you means that your salary will be pro-rated.
Key Responsibilities
- Caseload Management: Manage a caseload of students, providing impartial and informed advice to facilitate ambitious career choices.
- Virtual and In-Person Guidance: Offer guidance using virtual platforms such as Google Meet, as well as in-person sessions.
- Career Planning: Develop tailored careers action plans for each student to ensure clear and achievable career pathways.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Establish and maintain strong relationships with Careers Leaders and other relevant staff within partner schools.
- Community and External Partnership Development: Build and maintain positive relationships with external partners including local employers, colleges, and apprenticeship providers.
- Resource Development: Utilise a variety of platforms and mediums to deliver accurate and current career information to students, parents, and school staff.
- Professional Development: Continuously seek and engage in training opportunities to stay abreast of statutory changes and developments in Careers Education, Information, Advice, and Guidance (CEIAG).
Who You Are
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a confident and personable manner.
- IT Proficiency: Strong capabilities with Microsoft Office 365, Google Drive, and various databases.
- Organisational Skills: Excellent time management and a strategic approach to workload are essential.
- Attention to Detail: Must possess meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
- Relationship Building: Proficient in fostering strong professional relationships with a variety of partners and stakeholders.
- Adaptability: Flexible and adaptable, capable of working both independently and as part of a team. Must also be willing to travel when required.
- Professionalism: High professional standards with a positive work ethic and attitude.
