About ARU
ARU is a global university transforming lives through innovative, inclusive and entrepreneurial education and research. ARU holds a Gold award for the quality of its education, awarded through the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF).
ARU’s research institutes and four faculties bridge scientific, technical and creative fields. We deliver impactful research which tackles pressing issues and makes a real difference to our communities. Our academic excellence has been recognised by the UK’s Higher Education funding bodies, with 16 of our research areas assessed as world leading. We are the largest provider of Nursing, Midwifery, Health and Social Care students in the East of England, and we are also among the UK’s leading universities for degree apprenticeship provision, working with hundreds of employers across the UK.
About The Role
The School of Education sits within the Faculty of Arts, Humanities, Education and Social Sciences. We are a growing School with a diverse course portfolio. At Postgraduate level these include MA Education and PGCE, as well as doctoral level studies. Our undergraduate provision includes Working with Children, Families and Communities, Early Childhood Studies and Primary Education Studies. Following our successful accreditation from the Department of Education, we have developed the first new BEd (Hons) Primary Education with QTS, in the sector for 30 years.
We’re looking to recruit a Senior Lecturer to our Initial Teacher Training team. You will require a higher degree or relevant professional qualification in subject discipline at post graduate level and have QTS. You will bring experience in primary schools, a passion for training the next generation of teachers in the Eastern region and a commitment to developing your own research portfolio. In this role you will teach on the new BEd Primary Education with QTS course in our Cambridge campus, upskill as a mentor under the new requirements for ITT and support school-based training for trainees. This is a great opportunity for a colleague who wants to develop their research in a supportive environment whilst being part of an exciting and busy ITT offer.
Informal enquiries can be made to Rachel Minett, Lead for ITT in Cambridge at Rachel.minett@aru.ac.uk
