Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship position at Bridgelea Primary School

Apprenticeship Overview:
- Salary: £11,648 per year. In April the Apprenticeship salary will increase to £7.55 an hour
- Automatic pay increase after one year on programme for 19+ year olds
- Working Week: Monday and Tuesday 8.30am - 4pm, Wednesday 8.30am - 5pm, Thursday 8.30am – 4pm and Friday 8.30am - 2.30pm
- Hours: 35 hours per week
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship standard qualification
- Online training supported by our dedicated tutors
- Location: Bridgelea Road, Manchester M20 3FB & M13 0AQ
Duties include:
- Work with a children both in a classroom and on a 1:1 basis under the supervision of the class teacher implementing actions in Learning Support Plans and ensuring EHCP outcomes are achieved.
- Supervise and provide support to ensure the safety of pupils and enable them to access all areas of the curriculum.
- Attend to the personal needs of SEND children, including pastoral, social, health, physical hygiene and welfare.
- Establish good relationships with pupils, parents and staff.
- Promote inclusion and acceptance of all pupils.
- Encourage pupils to act independently where appropriate.
- Be a team player with the ability to further develop our strong school ethos
- Have experience of working with children with social, emotional and mental health difficulties.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
The successful candidate will obtain a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship standard qualification
Each apprentice will have their own dedicated tutor who will conduct monthly remote tutorials and reviews, providing continuous support throughout the apprenticeship program. Depending on the apprentice’s needs, the frequency of these sessions may vary.

Pre-employment checks. Please be aware that upon a successful offer of employment the company completes digitalised right-to-work checks and DBS applications via an external provider - 'Matrix Screening'. The company also completes an internal online social media search, in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance.
