About the role
English is an established area of provision at the University of Sunderland and is housed in the School of Media and Communications. BA (Hons) English: Creative and Professional Writing launched in September 2021, and we are now looking to add to our academic team by appointing a full-time senior lecturer with academic leadership experience to lead the programme and its delivery at associated TNE partners.
In line with the University’s mission, we aim to offer transformative experiences to talented students from all backgrounds, supporting everyone to develop their own voice as a writer and ensuring they have the skills, knowledge and experience to support their career ambitions.
This post will be influential in helping shape our professions-facing curriculum at undergraduate level. We are looking for a high-calibre senior lecturer, with experience as a published writer that can be used to inform and inspire students.
What you can bring
The successful candidate will have experience in academic leadership and teaching on undergraduate creative and professional writing degree. You will have strong contacts in publishing as well as creative and professional writing to inform and inspire students with employability knowledges and skills.
