Central Recruitment is currently recruiting for a number of Progression Coaches, to work within services in Greater Manchester and the North West of England. The organisation delivers a wide range of support and housing services for young people at risk of homelessness. The successful candidate will be required to work a total of 37.5 hours per week and will work various shift patterns from Monday to Sunday, including early shifts, late shifts and day shifts. Temporary cover is required for approximately 2-3 months. The pay rate is £13.91 per hour, with £1.68 holiday pay, totalling £15.59 per hour.
In this position, you will be expected to;
- Hold a caseload of young people and conduct regular key working sessions resulting in agreed SMART outcomes based Support Plans
- Complete comprehensive risk and needs assessments
- Support all clients to participate in Education, Training, Employment and Volunteering opportunities as appropriate to the development of their skills, assets and aspirations
- Involve clients in the decisions made about them and encourage participation in the organisation’s wider community programme of activities
- Deliver one to one and group support opportunities within the accommodation and local community aimed at increasing resilience in the clients we work with
- Be flexible, reflective and creative in your engagement with clients and personalised in your support to them
- Assist in preparing the accommodation for new clients to move into and supporting the client to settle in
- Carry out housing management duties, coordinating repairs, updating risk assessment and banking
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of clients in the service at all times possible including using Safeguarding and emergency alert procedures as applicable
- Have responsibilities as part of the team for ensuring the health and safety of the environment for clients, staff, visitors and volunteers through regular checks and reporting

- An understanding of the needs of young people who have experienced homelessness, poor mental health and substance use
- Experience of holding a caseload, conducting Support Plans, risk assessments and needs assessments
- Ability to demonstrate clear understanding of safeguarding requirements and procedures
- Commitment to promoting an environment which has the highest regard for the Health and Safety of others
- High level understanding of professional boundaries and the ability to maintain boundaries
- Experience working in partnership with multi agencies
- Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills

- In order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Current valid right to work in the UK
- Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years* (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise)
- A fully enhanced DBS registered on the DBS update service or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £60)
- Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process
