Job summary
We are seeking to recruit a Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner to work within the Medical Same Day Emergency Care Unit (SDEC) at Mid Yorkshire Teaching Trust.
You will be working as part of the Acute Medicine team providing leadership, expertise, advice and support to the nursing and medical team to ensure the provision of high quality clinical care to our patients.
Applicants should have a minimum of three years post-graduate experience of working as a nurse or AHP due to the university requirement and acuteness of the department and the ambition to commit to a three year training programme at Masters level. Through a structured programme of education, you will develop advanced clinical assessment and diagnostic skills, and the ability to work autonomously across the four pillars of Advanced Practice. You will be responsible for managing your own caseload and assessing, treating, referring and discharging patients in your care, under the supervision of a supportive and experienced team of Acute Medicine physicians and ACPs.
Interview Date planned for the 10th April. This will be a joint interview with the University of Huddersfield.
Main duties of the job
The role of trainee ACP involves a programme of academic and work-placed based education, supported by an Educational Supervisor. You will be expected to complete an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice via the apprenticeship route, undertaking a range of clinically-focused modules in line with the requirements of the role, including independent prescribing and clinical skills. Upon completion, you will have demonstrated clinical expertise and competence to be able to work within a defined scope of practice.
You will work collaboratively with our excellent team of nurses, physicians and ACPs in order to provide a patient-centred service, and to ensure the safe, efficient and timely flow of patients through Medical SDEC. You will participate in the leadership, management and education of others, as well as contributing to quality improvement and/or research activities that enhance the care provided to patients.
