Application Deadline: 31 December 2025

Employment Type: Part Time

Description
Join our quest for excellence as an Associate Lecturer for Bath Business School. Your use your experience in HE teaching and assessment to provide quality assurance oversight of our partnership programmes primarily though module moderation and other associated activities.
You will need to be a resident of the UK, but otherwise the roles are entirely virtual.About the Role
Bath Spa University has recently been awarded Social Inclusion University of the Year. This has been due in great part as our programmes are now being delivered across the UK, not just in Bath, and around the world through educational partnerships.
As these programmes are delivered by partners, they require a different oversight to those delivered by us directly. You will be working with our Partnership Leader at Bath Business School and Link Tutors to uphold our quality standards. The programmes are at both foundation level, undergraduate and postgraduate, in business and management but also in other disciplines related to management including the management of construction and health and social care management. We would be interested to hear from you if you have experience in lecturing, marking and assessment in any of these subject disciplines within the higher education sector.
Oversight will include applying our Assessment and Feedback policy through module moderation and other quality assurance activities, e.g. monitoring partners VLE to ensure it complies with our standards and the interpretation of course materials are consistent with our standards.
It is important that you are current with the latest standards in teaching. You will have the opportunity to participate in departmental activities and collaborate with colleagues across the School.
About You
In-depth Subject Knowledge: Strong grasp of contemporary management theories, practices, and emerging trends, and/or other relevant subject specialisms such as construction management and health and social care management, essential for quality assurance.
In-depth Understanding of Quality Standards and Interpretation of our Policies: through previous lecturing, marking and assessment experience in a relevant subject area, you will have a thorough understanding of quality standards to the appropriate academic level.
Effective Communication Skills: Proficiency in clear communication with different stakeholders involved in the quality assurance process. This will include communications with external partners and staff within the School.
Adaptability: Flexibility and understanding of teaching methods and technologies. You will be accessing student work on various virtual learning environments.
Team Collaboration: Ability to work successfully as part of a small team.
Organisation/administrative: skills required to organise your workload, meet deadlines, and manage our time with minimal supervision.
