More About The Role
As a Skills Coach (trades) at our PfP Thrive Academy, you will lead on the design and delivery of a relevant trade-based apprenticeship, teaching and guiding apprentices to become qualified tradespeople able to deliver an excellent service for our Customers.
You'll already be qualified in
one of the four key trades below, and will be able to draw on your two years' plus experience in that trade, to inspire learners to achieve their full potential, ensuring they gain the skills and qualifications necessary for a successful career.
The essential criteria for this role is listed below:
- You must be a qualified trades person with a minimum of two years' experience in the field, ideally having some experience supervising, coaching and training others. There are four trades we are looking at, you will need to be qualified in at least one;
- Level 3 Installation and Maintenance Electrician
- Level 3 Plumbing and Domestic Heating Engineer
- Level 2 Carpenter/Joiner (site joinery)
- Level 2 Property Maintenance Technician/Operative
- You should be confident and competent in using IT applications, specifically Microsoft, as you'll be writing reports, presenting to a variety of stakeholders and updating learner records;
- Ideally, you'll have – or be willing to work towards - a Level 3 Teaching and Assessing qualification

Places for People are looking for an individual who is confident and competent in delivering up to Level 3 Apprenticeships to a variety of learners to enable them to become a qualified tradesperson.
You will have the skills to teach, coach, assess and support individuals from a variety of different backgrounds, capabilities and levels through a variety of theory and practical application standards.
