Apprenticeship Group Wales have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Essential Skills IQA to join our team on a part time basis. Minimum weekly hours for this role are 16 but could be extended to 20 on further discussion.
Successful applicants will hold an A1 or equivalent award as well as 3 years occupational experience along with IQA qualification.
Welsh language skills are desirable but not essential for the role.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Purpose & aim
To support Assessors with the delivery of ESW qualifications in order to achieve and to contribute to the quality and development of Apprenticeship Wales’ training programmes and internally assure the delivery and assessment. To manage a small caseload of learners, if appropriate.
Operational Key duties and responsibilities
- To attend and assist with Key Stakeholder, Standards Verifier and External Verifier visits.
- To maintain all records and reports securely in accordance with Apprenticeship Wales’ and legal requirements, enabling access to authorised personnel only.
- To be a visible support to all delivery staff and provide coaching to get the best out of people.
- To feedback to the Quality Nominee on any staff performance issues highlighting any potential training needs.
- Ensure that learners are achieving within the route and that there is an emphasis within the qualifications on achieving and progressing.
- To follow the responsibilities set out in the IQA Strategy and Teaching, Learning and Assessment Policy
- To implement all IQA strategies, ensuring consistency of appropriate standards and delivery.
- To assist in the development of learner and assessor resources with the focus of supporting achievement.
IQA Key duties and responsibilities
- To ensure there is a robust sampling plan in place, including portfolio sampling, IQA observations and learner interviews.
- To carry out risk assessments for all tutors/assessors and manage risk in accordance with Apprenticeship Wales’ policies and requirements.
- To liaise with the qualifications team in order to ensure learners are registered for exams and invigilation is in place.
- To sample assessment decisions ensuring these are fair, consistent accurate and reliable.
- Ensure that all route staff maintain their vocational competence by arranging annual CPD activities.
- To ensure IQA documentation is up to date and available, understood by assessors and recorded and stored securely and confidentially
- To ensure the feedback is given to assessors is consistent and fair
- To develop relevant workshops that contribute to the ESW delivery
- To ensure delivery models are being adhered to and IQA milestones are being reached
- To support all Apprenticeship Wales’ policies and procedures in relation to IQA including Fair Access to assessment
- To act as a positive role model, displaying and promoting Apprenticeship Wales’ core values at all times.
- To ensure that equality and fair treatment is applied at all times.
- To inform the Quality Nominee of any sector changes and lead any developmental changes required

- An ability to work on own initiative and meet set timescales.
- General housekeeping duties.

Pay: £11,946.67-£14,933.33 per year
