NOCN is seeking to recruit an Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) with a background in Business/Education to work on a full-time permanent basis as part of NOCN's Assessment and Quality Assurance team.

Purpose and Objectives:
- Ensure that apprenticeship end-point assessment is carried out in line with assessment plans and NOCN policies, procedures and processes.
- Ensure that assessment practices and decisions, including grades, are fair and consistent across the team of Assessors.
- Improve assessment practices and the consistency of assessment decisions.
- Ensure Assessors provide high quality reports for NOCN and training providers that clearly reflect the level of attainment achieved by apprentices and justify assessment decisions.
- Promote a positive perception of the apprenticeships service to training providers, learners and employers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan internal quality assurance activity and review samples of assessment practices and decisions in line with the risk-based approach to internal quality assurance including documentary evidence and videos.
- Process end point assessment results, ensuring these are accurate and assessment feedback is clear.
- Provide Assessors with feedback, advice, and support, including CPD opportunities, to maintain and improve the quality of assessment.
- Contribute to the interpretation of IfATE occupational standards and assessment plans to help ensure consistent practice.
- Report any issues with assessment instruments to the appropriate End-Point Assessment Development Manager.
- Contribute to the performance management procedure to ensure all Assessors are risk assessed and provided with an appropriate level of scrutiny and support to carry out their duties to a high standard.
- Contribute to the evaluation and review of assessment and internal quality assurance policies, procedures, processes and systems.
- Report suspected and alleged malpractice to the Lead Internal Quality Assurer.
- Support the Lead Internal Quality Assurer to resolve issues raised by training providers and apprentices to maintain business relationships.
- Implement procedures to produce accurate and current management information.
- Implement the complaints and appeals procedures related to apprenticeship assessment.
- Complete End Point Assessments, based on occupational competence, where requested.
- Any other duties as requested by the Lead Internal Quality Assurer or Head of Assessment and Quality Assurance.
Key requirements and criteria:
The successful candidate will meet the following essential criteria:
- Level 2 in Literacy and Numeracy or equivalent.
- Educated to Level 4 or above.
- Committed to continuing professional development.
- Occupational knowledge in Business or Education.
- Internal quality assurance qualification.
- Assessor Qualification.
- Experience of working in a regulated environment.
- Experience of proactively evaluating and reviewing business
- procedures, process and systems.
- Experience of working productively across teams.
- Willingness to travel.
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office.
