Accountancy & Finance Trainer – Barnsley College Apprenticeships Salary: £31,280 to £35,205 per annum Contract Type: Permanent Full time 37 hours per week Reference: REC1981 | Closing date: Wednesday, 27th November 2024 The opportunity In this Trainer role within the Apprenticeships department at Barnsley College, you’ll play a key part in delivering meaningful learning experiences for apprentices, reporting to the Apprenticeship Manager at grade TEACH1. You will plan, coordinate, assess, and review learning activities, guiding apprentices toward successful completion of their end-point assessments while closely monitoring their off-the-job training. Your responsibilities will include managing a small caseload of apprentices, regularly assessing their progress, and maintaining strong communication with employers. You’ll conduct initial skills assessments, assist learners in securing work placements, and nurture lasting connections with employers to support their development. You’ll also create and update individual training plans tailored to each apprentice’s needs. Focused mainly on classroom-based delivery, you’ll teach roll-on, roll-off programmes, including the Level 3 Diploma in Accounting and the Level 4 Diploma in Professional Accounting, with class sizes of 15–20 learners. You’ll help apprentices apply classroom knowledge to their workplace roles, while tailoring sessions to be engaging and impactful. Additionally, you’ll coordinate exam logistics, engage in regular standardisation and professional development, and ensure all assessments meet college policies. Prior experience in the finance sector or in a finance role is essential, as is your enthusiasm to motivate and inspire apprentices to achieve their best.
