As Assistant Head you will have teaching and experience in either Brickwork, Joinery, Groundworks or Plumbing at intermediate and advanced levels and teach in that area too, whilst leading on cross-cutting themes such as student engagement, progress, assessment, and internal quality processes. Working closely with the Head of Area and wider leadership team, you will facilitate and role model excellence to staff and students.<br/><br/>The successful candidate will make an important contribution to the student journey, ensuring that students leave us with the skills, attitudes and behaviours to be successful in their next steps.<br/><br/><strong>Hull College </strong>provides high-quality education & training for school leavers & adults, offering a wide range of vocational study programmes, Apprenticeships & degrees, and in October 2023 were awarded a ‘Good’ rating by Ofsted. We have worked hard to create an environment where all of our staff, no matter what their role, are empowered to inspire & support our vision to create better futures for the people of Hull.<br/><br/><strong>Responsibilities of our</strong> <strong>Assistant Head of Building Technologies:<br/><br/></strong><ul> <li>Supporting the Head of Institute in leading and managing a collection of subject areas, ensuring that high standards of teaching, learning and assessment are maintained.</li> <li>Promote the College’s vision and mission and strategic objectives and to promote behaviours which underpin them.</li> <li>Contribute to the colleges curriculum development process which includes preparing, implementing, monitoring and reviewing new programmes and resources.</li> <li>Monitoring and analysing student data to identify areas for improvement and working with staff to implement interventions and strategies to improve student outcomes.</li> <li>Contribute to the quality of learning activities, ensuring that they meet College quality standards and result in improving student success rates.</li> <li>Line managing a small team of staff within the department as required, including carrying out staff appraisals and performance management.</li> <li>Undertaking a teaching commitment as per substantive role, and thus maintaining lecturer duties.</li> <li>Supporting team members to develop their practice in student management, teaching, learning and assessment.</li> <li>Participating in college-wide committees and working groups as required.</li> <li>Undertaking any other duties as reasonably requested by the Head of Institute.<br/><br/> </li> </ul> <strong>What we’re looking for in our</strong> <strong>Assistant Head of Building Technologies:<br/><br/></strong><ul> <li>Relevant teaching qualification and subject specialism.</li> <li>Significant experience of delivering good teaching and leading in further education.</li> <li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.</li> <li>Commitment to continuous professional development.</li> <li>Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.</li> <li>Strong organisational and planning skills.<br/><br/> </li> </ul>If you have the skills and experience, we are looking for and would like to join us as our <strong>Assistant Head of Building Technologies</strong> please click <strong>‘Apply’</strong> now, we’d love to hear from you!<br/><br/>Hull College is committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.
