Job Purpose:
As a result of our continued growth and success, a position is available for a Child Care and Education Assessor to join our established team. The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting a caseload of employers and learners to achieve a range of child care and education qualifications and programmes of learning at level 2 and 3.
Responsibilities:
· Follow company policies and procedures to carry out role
· Deliver programmes of learning using innovative and inclusive approaches
· Facilitate blended learning sessions that encourage the use of technology
· Evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and learning activities so that they improve the learner experience and support positive progression
· Negotiate, agree and carry out assessments using appropriate assessment methods in line with programme and awarding organisation requirements
· Make sound and objective assessment decisions that are based on assessment requirements
· Provide constructive feedback to learners that supports individual development
· Identify and deal with any barriers to fair assessment, and implement strategies to overcome them
· Review and update an individuals’ learning plan, and recording progress in line with agreed targets
· Complete and maintain secure and accurate records using e-based systems
· Implement internal and external quality assurance action plans, including the standardisation of practice with other assessors
Person Specification:
- Industry-specific and relevant qualifications with a sound occupational background in teaching assistant and early years
- An assessing qualification (A1 or D32/D33)
- A teaching qualification (CET) is desirable but not essential
- Flexible, able to manage time effectively and achieve agreed business targets; this may include working outside of normal hours to meet the needs of the business
- Build successful relationships with learners and employers and manage timely completion of learners
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to travel, have your own car and possess a full, valid driving license
